The Memorial of Ann Russell

Ann Russell, widow of James Russell, a London merchant, seeks to recover her husband’s extensive property, bank stock, and share of iron works owned with Messrs Ewers and John Buchanan. Among the lost property claimed was an unspecified number of enslaved people.

Some themes her Loyalist Claim Commission memorial suggest include absentee-ownership, commerce, confiscation, and industry.
