Maryland Loyalism Project

The Memorial of James Christie

James Christie (dates), Assistant Commissary to the Army, came to Maryland in 1758 from Scotland and remained until he was banished for his Loyalism in 1775. He went on to play a role supplying the British forces in North America and the West Indies.

Some themes his Loyalist Claim Commission memorial suggest include confiscation, military service, and persecution.
