George & Andrew Buchanan.

                    Memorial read.
                    The following Affedt read vizt
“At Glasgow the eight day of September 1789 In
             “presence of John Campbell Junr Esqr Chief
             “Magistrate of the City of Glasgow Compeared
             “Andrew Buchanan Junr Merchant there
             “who being Solemnly sworn Sayeth That
             “he was with his Brother Connected in, And
             “was the Acting Partner or Manager in a
             “business carried on from this place to the
             “Province of Maryland for several years
             “previous to the year 1775 under the Firm
             “of George and Andrew Buchanan at which
             “Time besides having Debts due to them
             “to a considerable value in said Province
             “They were also proprietors of a Store House
             “and Granary in the Town of Bladensburgh
             “That by a Bill of Confiscation which passed
             “in the American States they were deprived
             “of said Store House and Granary And
             “that the Sole reason for said Deprivation
             “was because they considered the Store House
             “& Granary were British Subjects, and that
             “they considered the 1d Store House and Granary
