Robert Alexander Esqr - Sworn
Says he knew there was such a Company possessing
Lands and Iron Works in Maryland called the Principio
Company - He knows nothing of their Concerns in
Virginia - He knew nothing of the persons of whom
the Company was composed except Mr. Thos. Russell who
was a partner and also their Agent in Maryland. The
Company sometimes went by the Name of Mr. Gee, and
Compy sometimes by that of Mrs. Wightwick & Co.
Mr. Thos. Russell was of England - He is uncertain whether
he was the Companys Agent at the breaking out of the
Troubles, or whether it was a Mr. Philips - Mr. Russell
resided at a place called North East where one of the
Companys Forges were in the County of Cecil  Mr. Philips
resided at the Kingsbury Furnace within 4. or 5. miles
of Baltimore Town - He died in 1775 and after his
Death Mr. Russell acted for the Company. -
There were two Forges in Cecil County one called
principio the other North East -
There were Two Furnaces in Baltimore County
