James Brooks Esqr -- Sworn                      July 14th 1788
Being questioned as to the evidence
formerly given him on the Case with respt
to the value of Mr. Allens Living which he
has stated at 6 or 700 Whether it was Sterg
or Currency and whether he has occasion to
alter that Opinion -- It could not well be
less -- but it might be more -- he forms
his Estimate on the number of Taxables
which he computed at 6000 each of
whom paid 4s currency - and from this
must be deducted the Fees of the collection
which were 6 pr Cent and the payment
of curates Mr. Allen having kept them.
            Being questioned whether the Living
was liable to subdivision -- says it was
not during Mr. Allen’s Life as it was -
considered as a Freehold.
