To New York with the Troops and afterwards
to the West Indies, from whence he returned
to Maryland to look after his property—
understands Claimant is now settled at
Baltimore and is in Commission
Way—
Knew the Claimts property in
Baltimore, the House was a large Brick
House with a Ware House and Wharf.
Mr Christie remembers that Claimant
bought the property of one Robt Long
some years before the War, after the
purchase he made some additions
to the Wharf—heard Claimant made
some Applications to have his property
returned but to no purpose—thinks
the Lot of Ground with the Buildings
and Wharf was worth 1200£ Sterg
before the War, which he should have
looked upon to have been a very fair
Price between Man and Man.—

Robert Alexander Esqr—Sworn.
Was personally acquainted with
the Claimant in Philadelphia and
New York after his return from Engd
in 1777 he looked upon him to be thoroughly
Loyal at that time—Claimt went from
