and from the Characters of the men and their Ability to value
Land, he thinks their valuation a just one.
With respect to the Iron Work in Baltimore County,
considering it as a body of Land it was very valuable, but as an
Iron Work he believes it was not productive, Doubts whether
any of the parties woud not have been glad to have got his Capital
out of it, considering it as an Iron Work.
Thinks that a 10.th Share would have brot. between 7 &
£10,000 Stg tho’ the produce was never equal to that Capital.

William Eddis Sworn
Knew the Mansion House and Lots belonging to
the late Mr. Dulany at Annapolis. The last time he saw
the premis was in 1777—it was an exceeding good House with
Garden and office, thinks the House worth £1,000 St.g

James Brooks Sworn
Says the Estate in Baltimore County was in
General Tenanted out and he believes there was a great
Proportion of Cultivated Lands in these Tracts. The Land was
exceeding good with good Timber on it. Says he heard M.r
Tasker sold 1/5th. of the Iron Works in 1769 for £7,000 St.g
Knew Mess.rs Fairbrother and Stevens they were
Men of good Character Witnesses often employed them to value
Estates.
Says he saw the Deed from M.r Dulany to M.rs
Montgomery the Property was conveyed to her & her heirs
he dont recollect any Conditions—in the Deed except paying
the Debts.
