A Native of England went originally to America in 1753
At the breaking out of the Troubles he was settled at
Annapolis and held the Offices mentioned in his Memorial. From
the beginning he did every thing in his Power to assist Government.
He staid till 1779 when he went to New York and from thence to
England where he continued till the end of the War.
Mr Clapham also produces a Certificate from Mr
Benedict Calvert late Collector of Patuxent district and Danl Dulany
formerly Secy of Maryland - both to his Loyalty - These gentlemen
he says are both Loyalists and non Jurors.

The sevl Tracts of Land mentioned in his Schedule he
says were sold by him between the breaking out of the Troubles and
the time of his coming away - he states the Amount for which it was
sold and submits to the Board that having expended that Amount
in the necessary support of his Family after the Loss of his Offices he
thinks himself entitled to State the same as a Loss arising from his
Loyalty. The Land was uncultivated.
One of the Tracts Vizt Walnut Grove he bought in 1778
during the War and he thinks he rather made an advantage on the
