                                    Offices
            He held the several Offices mentd in the Schedule
Produces his Commn from the Commrs of the Customs appointing
him Comptr of the Customs dated 26th June 1766.
            Also Commr from Sir Robt Edin dated 29th April 1773
appointing him Commr of the Loan Office.
            He says the Salaries of the sevl Offices were as Stated in
the Schedule- The Perquisites altogether were from £150 to £200
per annum.

Mr David Barclay - a Quaker examined on his Affirmation
            Speaks to Mr Claphams Character as a Man of Honor
and Honesty. He has been employed in the Business of Mr Hanburys
Executors and much to their Satisfaction.

Mr John Lloyd- a Quaker examined on his Affirmation
            Knew Mr Clapham many years before the War.
Knows he staid in America till 1779 or therabouts and from all he
knows and has heard believes him to be strictly loyal and a man of
excellent Character.

Mr Robt Alexander- Sworn
            Knew the Claimant at Annapolis before the War
he was always attached to this Government he remained in the Country
till 1779- he was one of the Commrs of the Loan Office with a Salary
of £90 per Ann. Says he cant tell what might be the value of his
Offices altogether.

George Clapham Chalmers Esqr Sworn
            Knew Mr Clapham well who was respectable as a
Man and steady as a Loyalist.
            He was Commr of the Loan Office and Comptr of the
Customs- Clerk of the Revenue and keeper of the Rent Roll. The
two latter were appointments of the Proprietor.
            Is unacquainted with the particular Salaries annexed.
