Original Share was about £200 Sterling—Says he cou’d
have sold his Certificates immediately after the Survey for
£800 Stg
He bought 4 or 5000 acres more after the Certificates
were returned for which he gave £400 Stg more or thereabts
Says his Share has been seized by the State—He bets
the same as to Mr Bouchers at least this was the Genl
voice of the Country.—
Has been at Mr Bouchers Plantation called the Lodge
and remembers when he was about buying it, it was said ^that he
was to give £2000 for it.
Says Mr Bouchers living used to be valued at £500
per Annum Stg but the Act of 1773 must have reduced it to
below £400—

George Chalmers Esqr Sworn
Says he believes all was done that cou’d be done by
Mr Boucher as a Loyalist and at the time his Exertions were
deemed of Service—He was concerned in publications in favor of
Government—This Mr Chalmers knows as he assisted him.
With respect to the obtaining back Lands—Says if
he had paid the purchase money and the Certificates were
returned the Patent was a mere Ceremony which the Propr
was bound to grant.
