Country was certainly in favor of the Brerewoods
Claim as there was some Fraud alledged in
the Bailiffs employed on the Estate.
            Mr Alexander knew the Tract. Thinks
that nearly the whole was under Lease,
either granted originally by the Predecessors of
the Brerewoods or by the Agents of Lord
Baltimore. He is of opinion the 10,000 Acres
would have sold on an average for 1 guinea
an acre -
                                                Novr 17th 1789.
John Clapham  - Sworn.
            Being asked if he was acquainted with
the late Mr Brerewood - Says he knew
nothing of him. Never saw any of the
Family till lately applied to by the Sollr
for Mrs Brerewood. He formerly knew
a Mr Potts who was sent over to institute
a Suit on account of Brerewoods Heirs
in the year 1774 or 1775.
            Being asked what the Reputatn
of the Country was as to the Right of the
Brerewoods - Says he does not know -
