Being asked if it was usual in the Proprietors
of Marylands Grants to bind the Grantees by any
Terms of Cultivation, says it was not usual.
Being questioned as to the quantity of uncultivated
Lands in Maryland, says there was a great part
of the Province xxxx uncultivated.

Robert Alexander Sworn
Knew the Claimant and all his Family, his Father
was a Man of Property Living at a distance, he cannot
speak to his Conduct of his own knowledge, but he
Always bore the Character of a Loyalist and knows
he was ordered out of the Town of Annapolis with
other Loyalists on the Appearance of Lord Howes
Fleet off the place.
Knows nothing of his own Knowledge of the claimts
Lands but says he heard in the country of the Transactn
between him and his Brother are related by him.
Being questioned as to the Quantity of uncultd Lands in
Frederick County says there was a great deal of land
which was uncultivated.
Proves the Hand Writg. of the sevl values except Logsdon
& says they were Men of Character, Murdock & Bruce had
Been Sheriffs of the County & Scott had been the Recr of the
Proprietors Quit Rents, Logdon was a farmer, thinks
them competent to put a value on Lands.
He can’t speak to the Particular value of the Lands of the
Claimant but says Lands in that County where they lie
Solo from 10s to 5 Currency per Acre.
