His principal Employ was the Recovery of Debts
for Merchants- where he was better paid and
with fewer Deductions- Knows of no Deductn
except the Expense of Collection which was
5 per Cent. The Collection being made by the
Sheriff throughout Maryland in the Nature of
an Execution.
In his own Case he took what he concd
to be the net Receipt after all Deductions
With respect to bad Debts- Says it
depended much upon the Nature of the
Business Plaintiffs Business was better than
Defts Mr Alexanders Business was good
thinks 5 per Cent a great Allowance for
Bad Debts in his Case.
