Produces a Letter dated 10th April 1776 from Annapolis
addressed by Sir Robert Eden to Governor Tryon at New
York recommending the Claimant for a Passage in the
Packet for Great Britain and which operates as a
Testimony of the Claimants Loyalty.
He is one of those who protested against the Resolutions
for not paying British Debts.
Says his Belief is that if he had not signed the Parole
he should have been imprisoned and he understood
it was debated in the Convention to seize his Papers.
His Motive for coming to Britain was his being by the
Parole rendered unable to carry on his Business.

Buchanan, John Briscoe came over to England
before him and returned again in 1779 and has resided
there ever since and Joined the Americans, James

1779 he knew he was going to take part with the Americans

the States.
Being asked whether he has sustained any Loss more
than his Partner Mr Briscoe has and whether he has

Briscoe and he has no other Loss but that of the Partnership
