He produces the Copy of an Agreement dated 2nd March
1778 between himself and his Partners whereby after
reciting that Briscoe is going to America they agree that
he shall collect all the Effects of the Partnership in Amera
and turn them into Money or such other things as he
shall find most advantageous for the Benefit of the
Partnership after which a Division should be made and
James and Robert Buchanan should do the same in
this Country.
He charges also £200 a year for Loss of Business from the
Year 1775 to the present time.
Being asked whether he has been in Business since 1775
and in what Business says that he has been in the
underwriting Business he is going upon Mercantile
Business to Nova Scotia.

George Chalmers Esqr Sworn
            Knew the Claimant in America he was always
understood to be a Loyalist and was very active in the
matter of the Protest.

James Brooks Sworn.
            Knew the Claimant at Annapolis always esteemed
him a Loyalist and he signed the Protest. Knows he Kept
a Store but nothing respecting his Property.
