February 22d 1787.
Evidence on the foregoing Memorial of Thos
Eden Exor of Sir Robert Eden.
The Claimant sworn.
He confirms the Truth of the Memorial presd
so far as his Knowledge extends.
Says he is the only acting Executor of the Will of the
late Sir Robt Eden, the other Excor and Mr Davidson and the
Extrix Lady Eden not having Acted.
Says Sir Robt Eden was a Native of Great Britain went
to Maryland as Govr in 1770 and was in that Situation
when the Troubles broke out. He continued there for
some little time after the Troubles commenced.
He returned home to Gt Britain in 1776 and Government
was so well satisfied with his conduct that they created
him a Bart & allowed him £800 per annum.
He died the 2d Sepr 1784 Lady Eden (who was Sister of
Lord Baltimore) is living.

As to a House Ground & Wharf in Annapolis.
produces Conveyce from Edmd Jennings Esqr to Sir
Robt Eden in Fee of a Mansion House and Out Houses
in Annapolis - Consn £1000 Sterling.
Mr Eden says there were about 5 or 6 acres of ground
conveyed The House when Sir Robt bought it was
of 5 Rooms on a Floor and 2 Stories high. a Brick
House. Sir Robt made an addn of two Wings of
Brick and added to the Offices. - Thinks altogr
Sir Robt Eden must have laid out £3000 or £4000
upon the whole of the premises. It was the best House
in Annapolis.
Says he himself assisted in making the Wharf
and he supposes that alone must have cost 2, or
£300.
He values the House, Ground & Wharf at £4000 Sterling.
