Being asked if he is sure it was Sterling that was paid
Says he thinks and is pretty sure it was - but will
not say to a Certainty.
Says the Concern of the Company were very ill
managed in Maryland latterly.
            Being asked whether from his Knowledge of the

Concern by keeping the Accounts if he had been a
Proprietor he would have taken £3,000 Sterling
for an 8th. Share of the Concern - Says he should
have thought it a full equivalent - He thinks
also that he shd. have been disposed to have given
that Sum for an Eighth -
Mr. Alexander Lawson - again.
Says he omitted to speak to the Value of the
Lands at Whetstone Point - which he is of Opinion
were worth 15 go. Per Acre. -
Osgood Gee Esqr. - A Claimant. - Sworn.
He is one of the proprietors of the concern
of the Principio Company an held an Eighth
Share after deducting a 12th. and an 18th. -
He became interested in his Share on his Fathers
Death in 1766 - His projects arose from Dividends
from the Company’s Stock when they were in Cash.
He received three Dividends, the last of which he thinks
was in 1776 - The amount of the three Dividends he
thinks was somewhere about £700 -
Says there had been gross Mismanagement of the
Concerns, insomuch that if it had been pointed out
to the Company that it would be more beneficial
for them to give up the Iron Works and let the
Lands in Farms -
Being asked whether there was any general Accot.
or Statement of the Concerns of the Company sent
home - Says he believes there was of the North East
Forge but not of the whole Concern.
Being asked whether he believes the Schedule
given to contain a true Account of the property
