The Inspection Roll of Negroes Book No. 2 (also known as the Book of Negroes), is a bound ledger created by the Board of Inquiry, made up of British and American commissioners, that met in New York City to coordinate evacuation of formerly enslaved Loyalists. The ledger records the names of 13 men, women, and children from Maryland, out of hundreds of other individuals, who sailed from New York between September 22 and November 19, 1783.
