James Rigby (dates), attorney, moved from New Providence, Bahamas, where he had prosecuted illegal American shipping to Maryland, then went to Jamaica, and back to Maryland in 1774 only to find an opponent had made his goods disappear. Only able to escape to England in October 1780. 

Some themes his Loyalist Claim Commission memorial suggest include law, maritime,  migration, and persecution.
