The Memorial of Elizabeth Dulany
Elizabeth Dulany, widow of Lloyd Dulany, stayed behind when her husband fled to England in 1775. His estate has been confiscated and she is trying to get back her right of dower. She claimed as lost property an unstated number of people that she and her husband had enslaved.
Some themes her Loyalist Claim Commission memorial suggest include confiscation and women’s experience.
