Maryland Loyalism Project

The Memorial of John Nesbit Jordan

John Nesbit Jordan and his mother Dorothy seek to recover the estate of his father, John Morton Jordan (d.1771). Jordan was in England for his education when war broke out. Came to Maryland in 1783 to seek his father’s estate and then moved on to Antigua.

Some themes his Loyalist Claim Commission memorial suggest include confiscation, family experience, and migration.
