The Memorial of John Montgomery
John Montgomery, an Anglican minister, held three livings in Maryland: Worcester, Annapolis, and Shrewsbury. He supported the Loyalist side and was threatened by Patriot sympathizers for it. He sailed for England in 1779 with his wife Margaret.
Some themes his Loyalist Claim Commission memorial suggest include religion and persecution.
